Meet The Lauren Duo
Lauren Martens is a violinist from Lenexa, Kansas and has been playing for 14 years. She recently earned her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Kansas. Lauren has performed with numerous ensembles including the Bravura Chamber Orchestra of Lawrence, The University of Kansas Symphony Orchestra, and the Lawrence Community Orchestra. She has also maintained a private violin studio for 6 years instructing beginner to intermediate students.
Along with playing the violin, Lauren has also performed with numerous choral ensembles including the University of Kansas Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. Paul Tucker. She has also conducted Rock Chalk Singers, a youth choir at KU.
Lauren Roberts is a cellist and double bassist from Wichita, Kansas and has been playing double bass for 12 years and cello for 6 years, making cello her secondary instrument. Lauren has performed with various ensembles as principle chair bassist such as the KU Symphony Orchestra and alongside her colleague, Lauren, in the Bravura Chamber Orchestra of Lawrence. She has also performed in New York City in Carnegie Hall and often travels back to her home town to teach at orchestra camps run by her school district. Lauren studied music therapy at the University of Kansas and graduated in 2018 and will begin her music therapy career in the Gardner-Edgerton School District.
